Chinese calligraphy is a significant workshop that offers a beneficial practice. Unlike many other forms of art, Chinese calligraphy is akin to a physical exercise that engages the entire body in a disciplined practice, enhancing physical control, mental focus, and emotional well-being.
About the workshop host:
Zhanghong Liao was born in Guangzhou, China, lived in London, Manchester and New York. Since 1996 she lives and works as an artist in Vlaardingen. Her exhibitions range from Dutch galleries to international locations in cities.
She explores new themes, creating a personal, yet broadly recognizable visual story with freedom and craftsmanship. Her oeuvre includes various techniques, including book objects, collages, abstract paintings, realistic portraits, watercolors, photography, performance, video and digital works, three-dimensional work and social art projects.
